John Powell Interview

Having studied his music for a few years as part of a large research project on sound and subjectivity movies, I talked to composer John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Bourne, United 93) today as part of a series of interviews for my PhD. A wonderful interviewee – thoughtful, honest and engaging – great material for my thesis, and has me thinking that a book on 21st Century film composer practice could be interesting.

There’s a terrific tour of his fantastic studio on YouTube.
